Order Rules for WooCommerce

Decide which orders your shop will accept. Store-wide spend and quantity limits, or conditional rules by product, category, role and date.

What it does

Not every order is worth accepting. Some carts are too small to be worth picking, some are too large to be a genuine retail order, and some are the wrong mix entirely. Order Rules decides which carts may check out, and tells the shopper what to change.

The free version covers the store-wide limits: a minimum and maximum spend, a minimum and maximum number of items, and a minimum number of distinct products. Turn on the ones you need, write the message, and checkout stays blocked until the cart complies. Classic checkout and Checkout Blocks are both covered.

Pro turns those single limits into a rules engine. Rules run in priority order and can target a product, a variation, a category, a user role or one named customer. A rule can require quantities in multiples, apply only when certain products are already in the cart, or run only between two dates — so retail and wholesale are never held to the same limits.

Every rule carries its own message, so the shopper is told which limit they have reached rather than being refused without explanation. Rules can be duplicated, imported and exported, and a debug view shows exactly why a given cart was blocked.

The free version is permanent. It does not expire, needs no licence key, and never contacts Plugin City. Pro is the complete plugin — everything in Free plus the rules engine — and it installs in place of the free version, keeping every setting you have already made.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Free and Pro?

Free applies one set of limits to the whole shop. Pro runs many rules at once, each targeted at particular products, categories, roles or dates, and each with its own message.

Can wholesale have different limits from retail?

Yes, in Pro. A rule can be targeted at a user role, so wholesale and retail are held to entirely different spend and quantity limits.

Can I sell a product only in multiples?

Yes, in Pro. A rule can require quantities in steps, so an item is only ever bought in sixes or twelves.

Does it work with the block cart and checkout?

Yes. Classic checkout and Checkout Blocks are both supported, and a blocked cart shows the same message in each.

What does the shopper see when a rule blocks them?

The message you wrote. Free uses one message for the shop, and Pro gives every rule its own, so the shopper is told which limit they have reached.

Can I see why a cart was blocked?

Yes, in Pro. A debug view shows which rules were checked against the cart and which one stopped it.

Can a rule run only at certain times?

Yes, in Pro. Rules can be scheduled between two dates, which suits a seasonal minimum or a temporary limit.

Do I need an account or a licence for the free version?

No. It is free to use for as long as you like, needs no key, and never contacts Plugin City.

What happens if a Pro licence lapses?

Nothing is deleted. Your rules stay saved, the shop falls back to the free store-wide limits, and renewing switches everything back on exactly as you left it.
