Stock Alerts for WooCommerce
Lets customers leave their email address on a sold-out product or variation, and emails them when it can be bought again. A change in the stock number on its own sends nothing.

What it does
Shoppers who find a product sold out often leave for good. This plugin gives them a reason to come back: a short form on the product page where they leave an email address, and an email from your shop when WooCommerce will sell the product again.
The form appears on a product, or on one specific variation, that cannot be bought. You choose its heading, button label and thank-you message, and whether it sits below the short description, above the add to cart button or below it. By default a customer confirms their address from a link first, so nobody is waiting on an address they did not give, and you can switch that off. Signed-in customers have their address filled in for them, and a shortcode prints the form anywhere you like.
An email goes out when a product or variation goes from unavailable to something WooCommerce will sell. Saving the same quantity, changing the price, or restocking a different variation does not send anything, and a product that can be bought on backorder is never offered the form. The emails are sent in the background in batches, so saving a stock change never waits on mail. Every email carries an unsubscribe link that works without signing in, and you choose its subject, heading, opening line and button.
The Subscribers screen lists everyone who has asked, with their status, and lets you filter by status, email, product and dates, delete or unsubscribe people, resend a confirmation, or send an alert to one person by hand. The Products list has a Waiting column, and the Inventory tab of a product shows how many customers are waiting for it.
The email addresses are kept in the plugin's own tables in your shop's database and nothing is sent to PluginCity. The plugin suggests wording for your privacy policy and takes part in WordPress's personal data export and erasure. Deleting the plugin does not delete your subscribers: they stay in your database, and only the plugin's settings and scheduled tasks are removed.
Pro goes further, with notification waves, so a small delivery does not email everyone at once, and restock thresholds, a wait after a restock before the first email, sending hours, exclusions for products and categories, follow-up emails, a text colour, logo and footer for the email, a Stock Alerts page in My Account, a demand dashboard, a recovered revenue report and a CSV download of the subscribers. The settings export holds settings only, never subscribers.

Frequently asked questions
Does it email someone just because the stock number changed?
No. An email goes out when a product or variation goes from unavailable to something WooCommerce will sell. Saving the same quantity, changing the price, or restocking a different variation does not send anything.
What about backorders?
If WooCommerce already lets the customer buy the product, because backorders are allowed, the form is not shown and nobody is told it has come back.
Can a customer ask about one size or colour?
Yes. On a variable product, choosing a variation that cannot be bought shows the form for that variation, and the alert is sent when that variation can be bought again.
Does the customer have to confirm their address?
By default, yes: they are sent a confirmation email first, so nobody waits on an address they did not give. You can switch it off in the settings.
Can a guest subscribe?
Yes. An email address is enough. A signed-in customer's address is filled in for them.
How do customers stop the emails?
Every email carries an unsubscribe link, and it works without signing in.
Where are the email addresses kept?
On your shop, in the plugin's own tables in your database. They are not sent to PluginCity. The plugin suggests wording for your privacy policy, and takes part in WordPress's personal data export and erasure.
What happens to my subscribers if I delete the plugin?
Nothing happens to them. Deleting the plugin does not delete your subscribers, the restock and notification records or the stock state: they stay in your database, and reinstalling finds them as they were. Only the plugin's settings and scheduled tasks are removed. Your licence key, if you entered one, is removed as well.
Can I download my subscribers as a spreadsheet?
With Pro. The Subscribers screen then has a Download CSV button above the table that downloads the subscribers its filters match. The settings export holds settings only.
Does it work with High-Performance Order Storage?
Yes. Subscriptions are stored in their own tables, not on orders.
What is the licence key for?
Pro needs a licence key for updates and to keep its settings editable.
Is it for stock or for inventory? Does it cover restocks?
It covers all three. It watches the stock WooCommerce holds for a product or variation, which some shops call inventory, and emails customers when it is restocked and can be bought again.
What does Pro add?
Notification waves, restock thresholds, delayed notifications, sending hours, exclusions for products and categories, follow-up emails, a text colour, logo and footer for the email, a Stock Alerts page in My Account, a demand dashboard, a recovered revenue report and a CSV download of the subscribers.
Will a small delivery email everyone who is waiting?
Not with Pro's waves. Set how many people hear at once, how long to wait, and the stock that must still be there. The next wave does not go if the product can no longer be bought.
What happens if my Pro licence lapses?
The limits you saved keep being applied: a minimum quantity, an exclusion, a wave, a delay and a sending window still hold, so a lapse does not email more people. The demand dashboard, recovered revenue report, follow-up emails and the other extras stop until you renew, and the settings stay on screen to read but not change. Nothing is deleted.
