Any Shape Popups for WooCommerce
Popups, slide-ins and bars in any shape: coupon tickets, speech bubbles and more, plus a designer for your own outline.

What it does
Popups, slide-ins and bars in any shape: coupon tickets, speech bubbles and more, plus a designer for your own outline.
Most popup plugins give you a rectangle with rounded corners. Any Shape Popups draws the popup as a coupon ticket, a speech bubble, a ribbon banner or a circle, and keeps the headline, text, sign-up form and button inside the part of the shape that can hold them, so nothing is clipped at a corner. Pick one of eight starter templates (welcome offer, sale announcement, exit offer and more), change the words and colours, choose a shape, and decide when and where it appears. The editor shows the real popup as you work.
Pro brings twenty more shapes in sale, friendly and premium groups, with options such as spikes, scallops, notch size and tail side, and a border, an entrance effect and a text layout for any shape. The shape designer starts from one of twenty stock shapes: drag its points, add and delete them, switch a corner to a curve, snap to a grid, undo and redo, and watch the popup change as you go. Or draw the popup around an outline of your own, from an SVG file you upload or path data you paste, with the text placed in the largest area that fits. Up to twelve outlines can be saved.
It is built for shops: a button can add a product to the cart or apply a coupon without leaving the page, and a sign-up form asks for consent before it stores anything. Sign-ups stay in your own shop and export as CSV. There is no mailing-service connection and there are no view or click statistics. If the licence lapses nothing is deleted: Pro shapes are drawn as a rounded card until you renew.

What the plugin does
- Modal, slide-in, bar and full-screen popups.
- Six shapes to start with: rounded card, pill, circle, coupon ticket, ribbon banner and speech bubble.
- Twenty more shapes in three groups: sale and promo (burst card, starburst, seal badge, price tag, chevron banner, slanted, coupon), friendly (chat bubble, blob, leaf, cloud card, wave, ripple) and premium (arch, hexagon, octagon, notched corners, scooped corners, scalloped, postage stamp).
- Options on each shape: spikes, scallops, bites, bumps, notch size, tail side and position, corner size and wave height.
- A border, an entrance effect (pop, drop in or tilt in) and a text layout for any shape.
- A shape designer: start from one of twenty stock shapes, drag its points, add and delete points, switch a corner to a curve, snap to a grid, undo and redo.
- The popup changes as you work in the designer, and the code for the shape is one click away under Advanced: edit code.
- Your own outline, from an SVG file you upload, SVG code or path data you paste, or the designer, with the popup drawn around it.
- A live preview of your outline in a sample popup before you save it, with plain-language checks and one-click fixes for a file that is too big, not closed, not close to square or too thin in the middle for text.
- Up to twelve saved outlines, shown as cards you can rename, duplicate or delete, with a count of the popups that use each.
- Only the numbers describing an outline are kept. The file is read once and never stored or shown to visitors, and anything in it that is not an outline (a script, a link, an image, text, styles) is refused.
- Saved outlines travel with a settings export, to copy a configuration to another shop or keep a backup.
- The text always sits in the largest rectangle that fits inside the shape. Taller content scrolls inside the popup instead of being clipped, and the editor warns you.
- Eight starter templates: welcome offer, sale announcement, newsletter, free shipping bar, message from the owner, exit offer, announcement ribbon and cart rescue.
- A button that adds a product to the cart or applies a coupon that already exists in WooCommerce.
- A sign-up form that asks for consent first, with the wording each visitor agreed to stored beside the sign-up.
- Sign-ups kept in your own shop, exported as CSV, deleted on request and removed automatically after a number of months you choose.
- Sign-ups are included in WordPress's personal data export and erase tools, and an email to the shop's admin address for each new sign-up can be switched on.
- Six triggers: on load, after a delay, on scroll, on exit intent, on a click or when idle.
- Show a popup on chosen pages, products, categories, devices, logged-in state or cart contents.
- Frequency limits, so nobody sees it again and again.
- The welcome offer from First Order Discount for WooCommerce, when that plugin is active.
- A shortcode and a Popup button block that open a popup from any page or post.
- A "Why isn't it showing?" panel and a Check as a visitor test that fetches your own pages and says whether the popup is in them.
- Popups and settings import and export.
- Calm mode turns every animation off, and each visitor's own reduced-motion setting is followed.
- Every popup is a real dialog: it traps focus while open, closes on Escape and returns focus to where the visitor was.
- On a screen 520 pixels wide or less, shapes that keep a fixed proportion become a rounded card so the text keeps its room.
- Decisions about device, cart and how often to show are made in the visitor's browser, so a page cache can keep serving the same page to everyone.
- Clean-up when the plugin is deleted, unless you tell it to keep your popups and sign-ups.
- High-Performance Order Storage compatibility.
- If the licence lapses nothing is deleted. Popups that use a Pro shape are drawn as a rounded card, and saved outlines stay saved. Renewing switches everything back on.
- A new install works for 14 days before a licence key is needed.
- Updates from your PluginCity account, kept coming by your licence key.

Frequently asked questions
Which shapes are there?
Six to begin with: rounded card, pill, circle, coupon ticket, ribbon banner and speech bubble. Pro adds twenty more in three groups: sale and promo (burst card, starburst, seal badge, price tag, chevron banner, slanted, coupon), friendly (chat bubble, blob, leaf, cloud card, wave, ripple) and premium (arch, hexagon, octagon, notched corners, scooped corners, scalloped, postage stamp). Spikes, scallops, bites, bumps, notch size, tail side and position, corner size and wave height can be set on the shapes that have them.
How does the shape designer work?
Go to WooCommerce, Any Shape Popups, Custom shapes and start from one of twenty stock shapes. Drag a point to move it, add or delete points, switch a corner to a curve, snap points to a grid, and undo or redo. The popup changes as you go. Under Advanced: edit code the code for the shape is one click away. Give the shape a name and choose Add shape, then pick it in any popup as Your outline.
Can I draw a popup around my own logo?
Yes. Upload an SVG, or paste SVG code or just the path data, on the Custom shapes tab. The SVG should be made only of paths, polygons, rectangles, circles or ellipses, with transforms applied when you export it. A live preview shows your shape in a sample popup before you save it.
What is refused?
A file with a script, a link, an image, text or styles in it, and anything very large or very thin. The preview tells you in plain language when a file is too big, not closed, not close to square or too thin in the middle for text, and offers a one-click fix where there is one.
Is my logo file stored?
No. Only the numbers that describe the outline are kept, so the popup can be drawn. The file is read once, is not saved to your media library and is never shown to visitors.
How many outlines can I keep?
Up to twelve. They are listed as cards that can be renamed, duplicated or deleted, each with a count of the popups that use it, and they are carried to another shop in a settings export.
Where does the text go?
The shape works out the largest rectangle that sits wholly inside it and puts your content there. If the content is taller than that, the editor warns you and the content scrolls inside the popup instead of being cut off.
Do the shapes work on a phone?
The circle, starburst, blob, arch, seal badge and your own outlines keep a fixed proportion, so on screens 520 pixels wide or less they become a rounded card. The other shapes stretch with their content and stay as they are.
Can a popup add a product to the cart or apply a coupon?
Yes. Set the button's action to add a product to the cart, or to apply a coupon and enter the code of a coupon that already exists in WooCommerce. The popup does it without leaving the page.
Does the sign-up form send email?
Not to the visitor. Sign-ups are stored in your shop with the wording of the consent the visitor agreed to. You can export them as CSV, delete them, and have them removed automatically after a number of months. They are included in WordPress's personal data export and erase tools. You can also switch on an email to the shop's admin address for each new sign-up.
Does it connect to a mailing service?
No. Sign-ups stay in your shop, so you export a CSV and take it where you need it.
Does it slow my shop down?
It adds a small stylesheet and a small script to pages that have a popup running, and nothing to pages that do not. There is no jQuery on the storefront, and the popup loads nothing from another site.
Does it work with page caching?
Yes. The popup is part of the cached page and the browser decides whether to show it. Logged-in targeting is decided on the server, so on a shop that caches pages for everyone it may not be exact. The plugin empties the caches it knows about whenever a popup is saved, switched on or deleted. A cache run by your host or a CDN is out of its reach, so empty it yourself if Check as a visitor reports an older copy.
My popup is not showing. What do I check?
Open the popup and read the "Why isn't it showing?" panel at the top of the editor. It says whether the popup is running, whether it has content, and whether the page rules, device, cart and your own viewing history let it show. See it on your site shows it straight away, and Check as a visitor fetches your own pages the way a signed-out visitor would see them, to show whether the popup is really in them.
Does exit intent work on a phone?
No. Exit intent follows the mouse leaving the top of the window, so it does nothing on a phone. The other triggers (on load, after a delay, on scroll, on a click and when idle) work on any device.
Are there view or click statistics?
No. There are none.
Does it work with the block editor?
Yes, as a place to show popups: any page built with the block editor can be a target, and the shortcode or the Popup button block can open a popup from it. The popup itself is written in the plugin's own editor fields (headline, text, picture, button), not in the block editor.
What happens if my licence lapses?
Nothing is deleted and nothing breaks. A popup that uses a Pro shape or one of your outlines is drawn as a rounded card until the licence is renewed, with its text and settings untouched. Saved outlines stay saved and stay on the Custom shapes tab, where you can see them but not change them, and the Pro settings are shown as words that cannot be edited. Renewing switches everything back on exactly as you left it.
Does it send any data out?
Your popups, sign-ups and your visitors' details stay on your site. The licence check and the update check contact PluginCity and send the licence key, the site address and the plugin version. Your popups and sign-ups are not part of those requests.
Does it work with High-Performance Order Storage?
Yes. Nothing is written to orders, so shops using High-Performance Order Storage are fully supported.
What happens if I deactivate WooCommerce?
The plugin steps aside and shows a notice. It does not cause a fatal error, and your popups are waiting when WooCommerce comes back.
What happens to my popups if I delete the plugin?
They are removed, together with sign-ups, unless you tick Keep my popups and sign-ups under Settings first. Sign-ups are your visitors' details, so export them before deleting if you want them.
How do I install it and what does it need?
Download the ZIP from your PluginCity account, then go to Plugins, Add New, Upload Plugin, choose the ZIP and click Install Now. If an earlier copy of the plugin is already installed, choose Replace current with uploaded: your popups and settings are kept. It needs WordPress 6.7 or later, WooCommerce 10.0 or later with WooCommerce active, and PHP 8.1 or later. There is nothing else to install alongside it.
How do updates and the licence key work?
Paste your licence key under WooCommerce, Any Shape Popups, Settings, Licence. Updates then arrive on your Plugins screen like any other, and the key keeps the Pro features switched on. A new install works for 14 days before a key is needed.
