Quote List for WooCommerce
Let customers ask for a quote on your products. A Request a quote button, a quote list for several products at once, and an inbox for every request.

What it does
Some customers need a price before they can buy: a bulk order, a made-to-measure item, a trade customer. PluginCity Quote List for WooCommerce lets them ask for a quote on your products. They click Request a quote, build a quote list of one product or several, and send it to you in one request.
Every request lands in an inbox in WooCommerce with a status (new, replied, won or lost), a search box and private notes, and you are emailed for each one. Your own prices and Add to cart are left exactly as they are, and this plugin only takes the request. The customer gets a plain confirmation. Nothing is charged and nothing is added to the cart. The cart and checkout, including the block cart and checkout, are never touched, and a customer's quote list is kept apart from their cart.
The button shows on simple and variable products, on product pages and in shop lists, with classic themes and with block themes. A variable product gets the button, and the customer says which size or colour in a note beside the product on their quote list. Grouped, external and subscription products do not get a button. The request form asks for a name, an email address, an optional phone number and a message, and a tick box with wording you write. Text only: there is no file upload.
Spam is kept out without a captcha or an outside service. The form carries a hidden field that people never see and scripts usually fill in, and a request that fills it in is dropped. Each email address is also limited to five requests an hour, and each connection to twenty.
The catalogue price of each product is kept with the request, for you only. The customer's quote list and their confirmation email show products and quantities, not prices. Requests are kept in three small tables in your own WordPress database, not in orders, so they work the same with High-Performance Order Storage on or off, and nothing about them is sent to PluginCity or anyone else.
This plugin does not hide prices or the Add to cart button, and it does not need to. If you also use PluginCity Price on Request for WooCommerce, the two work together: a product whose price that plugin hides still gets this plugin's Request a quote button, and the request records the real catalogue price for you. Without it, the button sits beside a visible price and Add to cart.
Requests are personal data. The customer ticks a consent box, and the wording they agreed to is kept with the request. Requests join the WordPress export and erasure tools, and erasing a person blanks them and keeps the products and quantities. A suggested paragraph for your privacy policy is added under Settings, Privacy.
Pro lets you answer with real prices. Open any request and send a priced quote: a price for each product, a discount, shipping, a note and the date it stays open until. The customer opens a link in the email, sees the products, prices, discount, shipping, your note and the date, and accepts or declines. Accepting creates a WooCommerce order at exactly the quoted prices, whatever the product costs by then, and sends the customer to the order's payment page, where they pay with the payment methods your shop already uses. Declining closes the quote and marks the request lost. A quote cannot be accepted after its expiry date, and a reminder email can be sent once, a number of days before it runs out.
Quoted prices are entered before tax. If your shop charges tax, WooCommerce adds it in the usual way when the order is made.
Pro also adds a My quotes page in the customer account for requests made while signed in, up to five extra form fields of your own (short text, long text, a choice or a tick box), button rules that decide who is offered the button by category, by customer role and on each product, and a CSV export of the requests you are looking at. Anything a customer typed that a spreadsheet could mistake for a formula is made plain text first. The extra answers and the quote total and note are included in a personal data export.
If a Pro licence lapses, nothing is deleted and nothing breaks. Pro's settings stay saved and on screen, where you can read them but not change them, and the button is offered to everybody, no extra questions are asked and no reminders are sent. A quote you have already sent stays open to read, but cannot be accepted online until the licence is renewed. Renewing switches it all back on exactly as you left it.

Frequently asked questions
Does it hide prices or the Add to cart button?
No. It takes quote requests and leaves your prices and Add to cart exactly as they are. To hide prices, PluginCity Price on Request for WooCommerce does that, and the two work together: a product whose price it hides still gets this plugin's button, and the request records the real catalogue price for you.
Do I need Price on Request for WooCommerce?
No. On its own, this plugin shows its button beside a visible price and Add to cart. Neither plugin needs the other.
Which products get the button?
Every published simple and variable product, once the button is switched on. For a variable product the customer says which size or colour in a note beside the product, on the quote list. Grouped, external and subscription products do not get a button.
Does it touch my cart or checkout?
No. A quote list is kept separately from the cart, so a customer can fill one beside a real cart without either knowing about the other. The block cart and checkout are never changed.
Will the customer see a price?
Not on the quote list or in the confirmation email, which list products and quantities. Your catalogue price is shown only to you, on the request in your admin and in your own email. The only prices a customer sees are the ones on a quote you chose to send.
Can customers attach files?
No. The form takes text only. Attachments were left out on purpose.
Does it make a PDF quote?
No. A quote is a page the customer opens from the link in the email.
How does a customer accept a quote?
In Pro. They open the link in the email, which shows the products, prices, discount, shipping, your note and the date the quote stays open until. Accepting creates a WooCommerce order at exactly those prices and sends them to the order's payment page, so they pay with whichever payment methods your shop already uses. It does not fill the cart. Declining closes the quote and marks the request lost.
Do quoted prices include tax?
Enter them before tax. If your shop charges tax, WooCommerce adds it in the usual way when the order is made.
What if the product's price changes after I send a quote?
The order is made at the quoted prices, not the price the product has by then.
What happens when a quote runs out?
It can no longer be accepted, and the customer is told so when they open it. The request stays as it was, so the lead is not lost, and you can send a new quote at any time. A request whose quote the customer has accepted cannot be quoted again.
Who can see My quotes?
In Pro. A signed-in customer sees the requests they made while signed in, and the quotes sent for them. A request made as a guest, or from another account with the same email address, is not shown to them.
How is spam kept out?
The form carries a hidden field that people never see and scripts usually fill in. A request that fills it in is dropped. Each email address is also limited to five requests an hour, and each connection to twenty. There is no captcha and no outside service.
What about privacy and GDPR?
The customer has to tick a consent box with wording you write, and the wording they agreed to is kept with their request. Requests appear in WordPress's Export Personal Data and Erase Personal Data tools. Erasing blanks the person and keeps the products and quantities. A suggested paragraph for your privacy policy is added under Settings, Privacy.
Can I export my requests?
In Pro. The Export CSV button beside the search box downloads the list you are looking at, with the status and search you have applied.
Does it work with High-Performance Order Storage and the block checkout?
Yes to both. Requests are kept in their own tables, orders are made through WooCommerce's own order functions, and the cart and checkout are never changed.
Can I change the emails?
Yes. Both are WooCommerce emails, so you will find them under WooCommerce, Settings, Emails, where you can switch them off or change the recipient, subject, heading and the text beneath them.
Does it need a licence key?
Pro needs a licence key for its updates and to keep its settings editable. The requests themselves stay on your own website.
What happens if my Pro licence lapses?
Nothing is deleted and nothing breaks. Pro's settings stay saved and on screen, where you can read them but not change them, the button is offered to everybody, no extra questions are asked and no reminders are sent. Quotes you have already sent stay open to read, but cannot be accepted online until the licence is renewed. Renewing switches it all back on exactly as you left it.
What happens if I deactivate WooCommerce?
The plugin steps aside and shows a notice. It does not fatally error, and your requests, quotes and settings are waiting when WooCommerce comes back.
